What is the Hyperon 65 ND?
It's a fully featured, robust 65-litre backpack that features a narrower fit for women and those with smaller frames. It utilises Rab's V-TRAX™ carry system to deliver a high-comfort carry for long-distance treks, multi-day adventures and expeditions. It's made from highly durable materials with Spectra® Ripstop Technology for next-level abrasion resistance.
What is it made from?
The Hyperon 65 is constructed from a combination of two highly durable ROBIC® Nylon Ripstop materials, one of which uses Spectra® Ripstop Technology for next-level durability.
Spectra® Ripstop Technology uses a super tough grid of polyethylene fibres woven into a solid yet lightweight 210 Cordura nylon. The fibres are made with a high molecular weight, making them 15 times stronger than steel and bullet-resistant materials. It's complete with a high UV resistance to help prevent any sun damage or deterioration when used regularly on exposed routes or at high altitudes.
This technology brings a whole new level to technical fabrics, creating something incredibly abrasion, UV and water resistant while extremely lightweight - perfect for high altitude hiking in rugged environments and changeable weather conditions.
The pack uses a Hydroshield Dura coating on the Spectra® Ripstop panels and a Tri-Shield® Coating on the base and sides. These coatings are both specialised water-resistant treatments designed to repel water, making it more resistant to moisture and rain. However, please note that this does not make the backpack waterproof. We recommend using the included rain cover to keep your belongings dry during downpours.
What backsystem does it use?
The Hyperon 65 uses the V-TRAX™ carrying system which features a hook and loop adjustment system to easily personalise the back length. A sturdy, comfortable harness, shaped lumbar pad and a supportive wrap-around hip belt combine to provide a very stable carry. The hip belt can be easily tightened using the forward pull straps to suit varying girths to ensure the perfect fit.
What are its features?
In terms of storage, there is a large main compartment ideal for heavier and more bulky items, such as a tent and sleeping bag. The compartment can be accessed through the side, top or bottom, so you can easily reach in and grab what you need without having to unpack everything.
An internal divider gives you the option to seperate kit, whether keeping wet gear away from the rest of the pack or for stashing your sleeping bag at the bottom of the pack for quick access when setting up camp.
A large front zipped pocket provides space for quick-access items such as a rain jacket, first aid kit or gloves. Two stretchy side pockets offer space for water bottles or wet gear that needs airing out on the go. The pack is also compatible with a hydration bladder of up to 3L.
Side and base compression straps allow you to cinch in any dead space, preventing items from moving around during transit and increasing the pack's stability for traversing various terrains.
The Hyperon also comes with a secure walking pole and axe loop attachment points, which provide a functional place to store them, keeping your hands free and your gear safe.
Finally, when the weather turns unexpectedly nasty, the included rain cover ensures your gear stays dry and protected from the elements.
