What is the Trailblazer XT 25?
The Trailblazer XT is a lightweight backpack versatile enough for hiking, trekking and fastpacking. Its partly recycled yet durable construction works well in rugged terrain and Alpine environments, and features a modular, adaptable design for optimised fit and convenience.
What is it made of?
Main: The main material is 210D Raptor Cross, a type of 100% recycled nylon triple ripstop, which, though recycled, is incredibly durable and will last years of adventures, even in the harshest conditions! This fabric is treated with PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) to provide ample weather resistance, helping to keep your belongings protected and dry. Although, please note that this does not make it 100% waterproof. PFC-free ensures no harmful 'forever' chemicals are used in the treatment, helping to keep toxic pollution and byproducts from manufacturing out of our waterways.
Lining: Halo 200D 100% polyester lining provides durability whilst keeping the weight to a minimum. Polyester has a smoother finish than nylon, helping to protect items inside the pack from getting scratched. The lining is also treated with a PFC-free DWR for reinforced water resistance.
Mesh: Montane has constructed the mesh pockets with Power Mesh, which comprises 80% recycled nylon and 20% elastane. This material is incredibly lightweight, breathable, and stretchy, making it easy to accommodate different sizes of items. The mesh is also quick-drying and allows ample ventilation to reach any damp belongings tucked in these pockets, helping to keep the rest of your kit clean.
What backsystem does it use?
The Trailblazer XT uses Montane's ZephyrAD adjustable back system. This system features a Contact Open Mesh back (made from 100% polyester mesh) and a 3D moulded foam back panel with adjustments. This back panel is incredibly breathable and well-ventilated to help prevent sweat buildup around the pack's largest contact point, keeping you comfortable for longer, even in humid conditions. The moulded foam panel also provides good stability, ideal for moving on uneven and technical terrain.
Shoulder straps and hip fins are made with Contact Air Mesh Plus (100% recycled polyester) to keep overall weight low without compromise. These feel light and comfortable to wear, and combined with a Covalent harness configuration, which pulls the pack closer to the body, this backpack hugs the figure naturally to optimise overall feel, user experience and stability.
What features does it have?
The easily adjustable back system accommodates different torso lengths and sizes, meaning you can consistently achieve the optimum fit.
Two off-centre 'Click and Go' chest harness straps improve overall security, even when moving quickly.
The main compartment is secured with smooth zip fastening and features a bivi-style opening with a quick-release cord lock adjuster. There's also a zipped front pocket and accessible, wrap-around wand pockets with locking security zips that allow you to access items inside on the go without taking the backpack off.
Plenty of hydration options are available with the Trailblazer XT. In addition to the wrap-around pockets that will easily fit a regular water bottle, there are shoulder harness pockets for soft flasks, alongside a hydration bladder sleeve for hands-free sipping.
A hidden daisy chain system provides additional external storage. The daisy chain is also compatible with a custom T-hook system, which works alongside laser-cut holes for adaptable, easy-reach storage solutions.
Ice axe and trekking pole webbing loops with cord locks securely hold larger pieces of equipment while keeping them out of the way when not in use.
This backpack offers approximately 25-litres storage in total which can be compressed using the compression straps when not fully packed, minimising load and volume for shorter excursions.
