What is the Samlaren Field Repair Kit?
It's a starter first aid kit for your gear – made to inspire and encourage people to repair and extend the life of their outdoor kit, rather than replace it. Housed inside a small, zipped gear bag, the kit contains the basic essentials to repair various items on the go. Part of Fjallraven's Samlaren series, which repurposes leftover fabrics from Fjallraven's mills to reduce waste.
What is it made from?
As mentioned above, this kit is part of Fjallraven's Samlaren series, meaning this gear bag has been created from fabric offcuts to reduce the material waste from their factories.
The repurposed material used is Fjallraven's G-1000® HeavyDuty which comprises a blend of 65% recycled polyester and 35% cotton. This exceptionally hardwearing material can easily withstand wear and abrasion from a lifetime of being stashed in your rucksack, just in case. G1000® HeavyDuty Eco is impregnated with Greenland Wax on either side, taking the already durable G100® material to a whole new level.
What are its features?
Aside from containing the basic essentials to repair your kit on the go, this functional bag also has some extra space to allow you to personalise your kit with some added extras.
The bag itself features several small open pockets and a zippered inside pocket to help keep gear well organised, whilst an asymmetrical zipper provides a quick and easy overview of its contents. A handy hanger loop in the side seam allows you to easily attach it to your backpack or other items of gear with a carabiner clip.
