What is the Traverse 22?
A backpack inspired by running vests. Comfortable and convenient, what more could you want? The Traverse 22 offers a close fit and plenty of space for various mountain adventures, whether hiking your favourite peak at the weekend or scrambling up something new.
What is it made of?
This hybrid pack is primarily made with Robic® Nylon, a proprietary fabric stronger than regular nylon. It's ideal for use in rugged mountain terrain where it's likely to take a beating. Specifically, the material has a higher tenacity, abrasion resistance and tear resistance than regular nylon. Pretty impressive, huh?
3D Monofilament Mesh panels help to reduce the weight and increase breathability where it's needed most - for example, around the back (the pack's largest contact point) and inside the shoulder straps. It also allows increased airflow as you move to reduce sweat build-up and regulate temperature.
All materials in this pack are PFC-free, meaning they don't use harmful perfluorinated chemicals that leave permanent damage to our precious planet!
What are its features?
Vest-inspired shoulder straps improve comfort and stability, helping the weight to spread evenly while offering additional storage at the front for convenience. Chest straps and a removable hip belt keep the vest in place. The chest straps are also height-adjustable, allowing you to adapt them to fit more personally.
There's a front zip pocket and removable waterproof pocket to keep items like a mobile phone, snacks and keys organised and protected. Being removable, this little waterproof pouch makes a great, versatile accessory for days out on the water too, whether kayaking, canoeing or white water rafting.
Plus, if you want to reduce the weight to a minimum, you can even remove the back panel!
For those who enjoy using hydration reservoirs instead of bulky water bottles, you're in luck! The Traverse is hydration compatible, allowing you to secure a water bladder for keeping fluids up without adding excessive stops en route. However, if you're going traditional or are taking a more leisurely trip, there are also two flask pockets with zip fastenings for extra security.
The main compartment is perfect for larger essentials such as extra layers and guidebooks. You can gain access through the main entry point, fastened with a drawstring, or the side entry when you don't want to stop and remove the vest altogether.
When the compartment isn't fully packed, you can cinch any dead space away using the compression straps to stop it from wobbling around and setting you off balance.
For fastpackers or hikers who don't want the faff of a regular backpack, there are pole fixation points on either side of the Traverse 22 to neatly store them when not in use.
The design is finished with Dynafit's contemporary branding and a small safety whistle for extra reassurance out on the hill.
