What is the L.I.M Airak Down -0 Sleeping Bag?
The L.I.M Airak Down -0 is a lightweight sleeping bag designed for minimalist camping in warmer months. Ultra packable, with a fantastic warmth-to-weight ratio, it has a small pack size, making it ideal for adventure racing, fast packing and ultra-light summer excursions.
What is it made from?
Insulation: Haglofs has filled this sleeping bag with 200g of RDS-certified hydrophobic 800-fill power H DOWN Gold, which is superior quality down with a 90% down, 10% feather ratio for maximum loft (fluffiness) and insulation.
The down is treated with a specialised hydrophobic coating to help the down retain its thermal performance even in humid conditions and to speed up drying time if it does get wet. This hydrophobic treatment provides a water-resistant coating to each individual down cluster, enabling the insulation to stay dry for up to 5,000 minutes when exposed to wet conditions - pretty impressive, right?
Can't quite catch the lingo? Here's a quick breakdown.
Fill power - Fill power measures the warmth and efficiency of the down, alongside its ability to loft/fluff up. A rating of 800 fill power means that 1oz of this down fills 800 cubic inches of space when fully lofted.
R.D.S - The Responsible Down Standard ensures that the down is sourced from happy birds who haven't been plucked and have been well cared for.
Hydrophobic - Hydrophobic down dries out and lofts more quickly than untreated down, resisting moisture from sweat and condensation that may build up when you're catching z's in the bag. Fluorocarbon-free Hydrophobic finishes don't use harmful chemicals that cause damage to the environment, an excellent feature for more eco-conscious adventurers.
Outer fabric: The outer shell of this sleeping bag is made with Pertex® Quantum Pro Ripstop, which provides protection from harsh, windy conditions thanks to its soft, windproof and water-resistant properties.
Pertex Quantum Pro's durable and tightly woven construction maximises the thermal efficiency of the insulation whilst helping prevent tears and snags. This also provides a haven for the down-to-loft effectively. The material thrives in cool, damp environments due to its ultra-thin, highly water-resistant, microporous coating that protects from light moisture alongside the wind and cold.
Lining: Haglofs has used Pertex® Quantum for the lining, which, like the outer Pertex® Quantum Pro, is designed to trap still air, aiding the insulation and maintaining its efficiency whilst creating a light, protective barrier from moisture and the elements. It, too, is windproof and breathable, making it comfortable next to the skin. The fabric is finished with a lightweight DWR (durable water repellent) to help the material deal with excess moisture, whether from condensation in the tent or the occasional water/coffee spill in the bag.

The L.I.M Airak Down -0 is designed with an Alpine Fit; this narrow silhouette sits closer to the body to maximise thermal efficiency and keep weight low. An anatomically shaped mummy hood with an adjustable drawcord allows you to cinch the bag close to the face to avoid heat loss around the neck and face. The offset anatomically shaped foot box allows for a natural lying position to improve comfort levels. The foot box's four-baffle construction helps to ensure there are no cold spots across your feet.
The one-third centre zip allows easy access in and out of the bag whilst allowing you to sleep with your arms outside the bag in warmer climates. It also allows you to stay warm while performing camp tasks, such as cooking dinner and organising your gear for the next day's adventure. A full-length zip baffle runs down the central entry point to help prevent heat loss through the zip.
An internal and external hanging loop allows you to easily hang it up to air out or dry after your adventure, so you can keep the bag smelling fresh and in the best condition.
The vertical box-wall design helps maximise the loft and equal spread of the down, increasing warmth and enabling you to feel as snug as a bug in a rug. This box-wall construction also helps to reduce the amount of dead space inside, decreasing the overall pack size of the bag.
Last but not least, this bag comes with a lightweight, waterproof stuff sack, to allow you to pack it down as much as possible for a minimal carry. It also comes with a mesh storage bag to allow you to store it un-compressed at home. When storing the bag, we recommend stuffing them into the bag willy-nilly, not neatly folding them in. This random stuffing helps prevent gaps from forming in the down, which could result in cold spots.
