What is the Hypersphere Ultra 7.5?

It's an incredibly warm down sleeping mat with an exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio and pack size. With an R rating of 7.3 it's ideal for lightweight adventures in the coldest climates, such as mountaineering, winter alpine climbing, Arctic ultra running and winter camping.

What is it made from?

Fabrics: The outer comprises 20D recycled polyester, which is super light yet durable enough to endure lots of use with a lesser impact on the planet. The material is coated with a TPU coating and a fluorocarbon-free DWR (durable water repellent) that helps any light rain or accidental spills simply bead away instead of soaking in. Fluorocarbon-free DWRs are much more environmentally responsible than conventional treatments, as they don't use harmful forever chemicals that cause damage to our environment and ecosystems.

Insulation: For warmth, the Hypersphere Ultra is filled with 190g of superior 800FP European Goose Down. The down is treated with a fluorocarbon-free hydrophobic finish, which adds water resistance to the down itself. This helps the down maintain its thermal performance in damp environments, as it's no secret down and moisture don't like each other!

What are its features?

This sleeping mat has oversized outer chambers that help to keep you centralised, perfect for fidgeters who move around a lot in their sleep.

It has a hybrid rectangular shape that gives you space to sleep in various positions without feeling like you're falling off, and an overall thickness of 8cm.

A pump sack is included, which helps speed up the inflation process in a more hygienic way. These pump sacks are designed to minimise moist air getting inside your mat as you blow it up, which can cause it to rot from the inside after heavy use and decrease the product's longevity. You blow a small amount of dry air into the bag, roll it and push the air through. It sounds like a long process, but it's surprisingly quick and easy! The process is made even easier with the low profile, two-way valve that eliminates the chance of air escaping as you pump it up and allows fast deflation when needed.

A repair kit is included for emergencies, alongside a roll-away stuffsack for storing the mat.

Finally, the mat has an R-value of 7.3, making it suitable for ultralight missions in hostile landscapes, from winter alpine climbing to Arctic ultra-running.
