What is the Siltarp 1?
The Siltarp 1 is a tarp shelter for adventurers braving solo expeditions and backpacking trips. A lightweight alternative to a full tent, tarp shelters are ideal for those who want to feel a little closer to nature when camping yet still want some cover from the elements.
What is it made from?
Rab has constructed the Siltarp 1 using a single piece of Cordura 30D siliconised nylon with a PU coating, which provides a 2000mm hydrostatic head (HH) of waterproof protection from those pesky downpours. Cordura 300D nylon reinforces the tarp on high wear areas, such as the corners and central guy points.
What are its features?
The Siltarp 1 is ideal for individuals who want to carry a minimal load on their backpacking adventures due to its super lightweight and packable nature.
The tarp works well to provide coverage for one person, with 2.4 metres by 1.5 metres of rectangular tarp, an ideal size for one without being excessively spacious.
It is constructed using one single piece of fabric, making it strong and seam free.
There are 16 external guy points, made from lightweight webbing, to attach and tie guylines to secure the shelter. There is one central lifter point for additional support with a ridge line.
All webbing points are double bartacked to help improve the strength and durability of the shelter and attachment points.
A packable stuffsack is included, making it easy to sling back into the bag and crack on with your day without the faff of trying to squeeze all your materials down with the rest of your kit.
