Different look. Same Functionality.
This tent has unusual striping on the fabric that makes it look different, but it has been rigorously tested and shows no functional weakness. It is still built for a lifetime of use, so why waste it?
A portion of the fabric used for the Abisko tent range was affected during the dyeing process, causing a striping affect that is visible when the tent is set up. You can see images of these stripes attached to this page, displaying them on green and blue materials.
The tents have been rigorously tested to ensure that the coating quality of the fabric was not affected by the striping, including:
- Lab testing with SGS — results showed no weakness
- 6 weeks of field testing — results showed no weakness in strength or quality
Direct from Fjallraven's trusted testing team:
“We have now used the tents in rain, wind and in sun, we have over tensioned them and misused them during these last weeks. Our conclusion is that they work as well as the other tents. The test team can stand behind that they have been tested in the outdoors. We haven't seen any leaks from the striped fabric or any weird tensioning or loosening at the striping."

What is the Abisko Lite 1?
The Abisko range of tents by Fjallraven are some of the most versatile year round tents available. This Abisko Lite model is entirely focused on lightweight trekking in four-season conditions. Despite the small pack size, the Lite 1 possesses the durability to last years of use and enough room to accommodate extra gear in the vestibule area.
How is the tent constructed?
The Abisko Lite 1 is constructed in a tunnel shape with a single durable pole used to support the main bulk of the tent, and four small poles (only around 30cm in length) used to prop the corners of the tent upright. The whole tent sits just 90cm high, meaning in strong wind the shape of the tent and the low ceiling allows air to pass over more freely. Moving to the front of the tent, Fjallraven supply you with one large door which gives you wide access into the sleeping area. A mosquito net covers the door into the sleeping area and allows you to roll the main door on the flysheet back, but have the mosquito net zipped for ventilation and insect protection.
What are its features?
Feature wise, you get three total pockets, one big, two small, YKK zippers which won't undo in strong winds, ultra tough reflective guylines to avoid tripping in low light, a clothesline inside to dry wet kit, multiple vents to increase airflow and low-friction pole sleeves to reduce the chance of damage.
What is the Abisko Lite made from?
The main bulk of the fabric used by the Abisko Lite is Fjallraven's20D lightweight TripleRip fabric. This tear resistant and extremely light fabric will pack down to very little and weighs next to nothing, while a more burly 40D fabric is used on the groundsheet and the lower flysheet; areas most prone to abrasion. A 3000mm hydrostatic head flysheet provides complete waterproofing, while the 6000mm groundsheet increases the durability and waterproofing even further.
Summary
The Abisko Lite 1 is a brilliant option for those requiring a lightweight yet durable four-season tent for one user while trekking and backpacking. A long list of ventilation options and Fjallraven's exceptional build quality ensures years of reliable, comfortable and high performance use.
