What is the Tindheim 2?
It's a three-season tunnel tent built to house two to offer premium space and cosiness for multi-day adventures, backpacking trips, camping and trekking. The Tindheim provides plenty of room for superior comfort and cosiness when sleeping under the stars.
What is it made of?
Fly: The flysheet comprises 68D polyester nylon with a hydrostatic head rating of 1500mm, which is a good level for a backpacking tent! The material is treated with DWR (durable water repellent) to reinforce its waterproof capabilities for heavier downpours and long nights spent in the rain.
Canopy: Constructed using 68D taffeta polyester with a DWR treatment, the canopy material is lightweight, smooth, and resistant to rain showers and coffee spills.
Floor: 68D taffeta polyester nylon on the base ensures a good level of durability. It has a hydrostatic head of 3000mm and is also treated with DWR for increased protection against wet ground.
Mesh: The inner mesh tent uses 40D nylon micromesh, which is incredibly durable yet permeable enough to allow airflow into the tent for ventilation. This material also increases the packability of the tent, thanks to its extremely lightweight, low-bulk structure.
Poles: Poles are made with aluminium which is lightweight for its strength and offers excellent reliability for adventures when the weather's blowing a hooley.
What are its features?
The spacious interior and vestibule section provides lots of room for relaxing after a hard day on the trails. It has a true, rectangular floorplan and roughly a metre of headroom. The vestibule section is particularly handy for gear storage, meaning you don't have to take up valuable space inside the tent itself.
For added organisation, there are interior pockets for essentials like torches, chargers, snacks or a book, and an overheard laundry line if you forget to bring a spare pair of pants and need to refresh them in a nearby stream!
Rainfly vents are easy-to-reach, and a double-layer zip door allows you to customise airflow for warm, humid weather.
Overall, the design of the Tindheim is strong and stable thanks to its durable two-hoop design, reinforced with heavy-duty cord adjusters and 3mm reflective guy lines. These guy lines also come in handy when locating your tent at night if you've had to brave the cold and get up to answer the call of nature!
