What is the Dagger OSMO 2?
The Dagger OSMO 2 is a lightweight, packable yet spacious two-person tent that works for backpacking and casual overnight adventures, thanks to its roomy interior. Its single-pole setup and freestanding design make it incredibly quick and simple to set up, taking just 5 minutes with a bit of practice.
What is it made of?
Flysheet: The flysheet is made from NEMO's OSMO fabric (hence the name). This composite fabric has 3x less stretch when wet, reducing sag and maintaining wind and rain shedding in any weather. OSMO fabrics are completely PFC- and PFAS-free, meet fire retardancy standards without the use of added chemicals, and are woven from 100% recycled yarns. Even the pole bag has been carefully considered and is made from recycled bottles.
How is it constructed?
You've got one unified pole, an inner, flysheet, and a vestibule groundsheet. Connect the pole sections (the poles use a DAC Featherlite NSL structure) together and attach them to the inner. The poles fit neatly into the plastic 'feet', which actually work really well - it makes setting the tent up much easier than the usual loop that fits over the end of the pole. Next, pop the flysheet on and peg out both vestibules. Continue to place pegs in each corner of the tent and adjust the tension on the flysheet to ensure everything is taught. You can also add the vestibule groundsheet if you want more protection when it's damp, or the ground is rough.
Thanks to its freestanding design, you can literally pick it up and move it around until you find the perfect pitch. It only weighs 1.5kg, so make sure it doesn't get carried away like Mary Poppins in a large gust of wind…
Once set up, you can see just how much space you've got considering how small this thing packs up! Both vestibules have enough space for large rucksacks and muddy boots and even give plenty of room to space yourself out from someone you don't like... Maybe you got the short straw in camp - better luck next time, aye? The inner has enough room for two full-length sleeping mats side by side with some wiggle room.
What are its features?
Inside, you've got 'Nightlight' pockets at both ends to stash your lantern or headtorch in if you fancy some late-night reading.
The rectangular stuff sack allows you to split the weight of the tent evenly between two people.
A landing zone storage tub in the vestibule helps protect gear from the elements whilst keeping your space organised and tidy.
Protected vents at both ends of the tent give you constant airflow to reduce condensation. While we're talking condensation, you can roll both doors back for greater airflow or pin the entire vestibule back for an unobstructed view of the scenery. If you really wanted to, you could even camp without the flysheet, effectively giving you one massive bug net.
