What is the Puez Trek 3P Tent?
It's a versatile, three-person tent designed primarily for trekking yet suitable for multi-day hikes and camping trips. The Puez Trek is built with durable materials and has a versatile construction that you can strip down if you're counting grams.
What is it made of?
Fly: The fly comprises a durable nylon ripstop with a silicone PU coating and DWR (durable water repellent) for maximum weather protection and longevity. This material is relatively lightweight yet incredibly strong and, thanks to the silicone PU coating, can shield you from the elements effectively.
Floor: The floor is also made of nylon ripstop, this time recycled, with a silicone PU coating. Though recycled, it still provides incredible abrasion resistance and ample protection and comes in a higher denier to reduce the risk of snagging and tearing.
Inner Tent: Salewa has constructed the inner tent with recycled nylon ripstop, making for an all-around, long-lasting shelter that you can use during multiple seasons in various terrains.
Poles: Aluminium Air Lite poles are super tough yet lightweight to keep weight and bulk low without compromise, providing a sound, reliable structure for your overnight adventures. These poles are colour-coordinated, making them easy to match to each part of the fly.
What are its features?
Entry: A basic, zipped entry point on one side provides enough room for you and your campmates to get in and out without scrambling over each other (depending on the way you sleep).
Space: This tent is designed for three people and has a fairly snug design to help reduce weight and bulk without compromising comfort altogether. With 130cm of headroom, there is enough space to sit upright and have a natter while settling down for bed or eating breakfast in the morning if the wind is blowing a hooley. Its vestibule works perfectly for storing gear at one end of the tent without taking up valuable space inside.
Storage: This tent has many built-in storage options, keeping your belongings organised and out of the way with ease. These features include door storage pockets, interior pockets and a gear loft. There is also a 'declutter bag' included with the Puez Trek that is ideal for storing litter, not only helping to keep camp tidy, but adhering to the 'leave no trace' mantra that we should all be practising when camping.
Ventilation: A FreshVent system makes for easy, effective ventilation when using your tent, helping to prevent condensation from building up overnight, causing your home-away-from-home to feel damp or even cold when you wake up. The system consists of one ventilation panel with zipped openings that you can adjust to your liking, depending on how much fresh air you want to let in.
Guys, attachments and pegs: One nylon guyline combined with cord locks and a W-Tension system makes easy work of otherwise tedious tasks, helping to minimise overall set-up time. Ten aluminium pegs are included to keep the tent secured to the ground without adding excessive weight.
Optional extras: Footprints can be purchased separately for added protection to the underneath of your tent. We especially recommend using one of these if you are camping in rugged terrain or on rocky surfaces; it would also be ideal to use one if you are still determining where you'll end up that evening, just to be safe!
This tent comes with a minimalist pitching option if you're trying to save weight - you can use only the fly without the tent's inner, cutting the overall weight to around 2.5kg. A repair set is included in case of emergency, and each anchor point is replaceable.
