What is the Nano-Air® Light Vest?
It's a lightweight, insulated gilet designed for chilly autumn walks and winter layering systems. The Nano-Air® Light Vest provides ample warmth and light coverage for various activities, whether hiking, hill walking, backpacking or even casual errands.
What is it made of?
This gilet's outer shell and lining are made with 100% recycled polyester shadow stretch ripstop, which is abrasion-resistant, lightweight and breathable. It's finished with a PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) that encourages light rain and snow to bead away.
PFC-free means perfluorinated chemical-free. Perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs), used to add water repellent to textiles, aren't able to break down, so once they reach nature via factory water waste, they stay in the ecosystem and contaminate living organisms, working their way up the food chain. PFC's are suspected carcinogens and have been known to affect mammal reproduction and hormone production. Therefore, many leading brands in the outdoor industry are now prioritising cutting out the use of these chemicals entirely to contribute to a more responsible manufacturing process.
The Nano-Air®is insulated with FullRange® 100% polyester insulation, which is a synthetic insulation that stays warm when wet and is also animal-free. FullRange® insulation delivers outstanding mechanical stretch and air permeability, allowing excess heat to move away from the body and helping prevent moisture buildup inside the vest without compromising freedom of movement.
This product is also made in a Fair Trade Factory™, giving Patagonia more control of the operations in the factories they choose to work with. Patagonia proudly offers more Fair Trade styles than any other apparel brand in the current market. But how does it work? Patagonia pays a premium for every item made in one of these factories, and this money goes directly to the factory workers. A democratically elected committee of Fair Trade workers will decide how this extra money gets spent in each Fair Trade factory. The program also promotes worker health and safety, and social and environmental compliance, while encouraging healthier dialogue between workers and management.

The full-length front zip makes for easy access and allows you to quickly dump heat when needed. The top of the zip is covered with a zipper garage to prevent the fastening from snagging or pinching the skin.
Two handwarmer pockets and a left chest pocket store small essentials like a mobile phone, keys, snacks, or doggy bags. Pockets are designed with a low-bulk construction to sit comfortably with a backpack or climbing harness. Each pocket is also fastened with a zip for extra security.
Cleanly finished armholes and hem keep this gilet looking sleek and minimal. This gilet can be stuffed into its chest pocket for storage and transportation to provide a quick, easy packing solution.
