What are the Guide gloves?
The Guide 2 GTX gloves are incredibly warm, durable and protective gloves which are designed to be used for prolonged periods of time in the mountains. A Gore-Tex membrane and PrimaLoft insulation work in harmony to keep your hands dry, warm and comfortable.
What are they made of?
Starting from the outside and working our way in, Rab use a high quality Pittards leather on the palm and fingers, while double-layers of leather are used as reinforcements in high wear areas. Leather, to this day, is still one of the most abrasion resistant and hardwearing materials, making it ideal for these durable gloves. Underneath the durable leather is a Gore-Tex membrane, ensuring your hands stay completely dry from rain and snow.
Insulation wise, Rab use a mixture of PrimaLoft Gold and High Pile on the back of the hand and palm to provide stacks of reliable warmth. The back of the hand gets 60g, while the palm gets 100g to add a little extra warmth where you'll be in contact with cold rock or tools. Inside the glove you'll find more High Pile to wick away sweat and to provide a comfortable surface next to skin.
What are the features?
They're not packed with features because... well, they're gloves, but they do have some cool bits. A removable leash means you can attach them when not in use, while a 3D curved construction naturally conforms to the shape of your hand when relaxed. An integrated pull on the lower of the gauntlet prevents debris entering the glove while climbing. A small loop on the finger of the glove allows you to attach them to your harness without snow collecting inside.
