What is the R1 Daily Beanie?
It's a durable, versatile beanie hat designed with partly recycled materials and odour-control technology, helping it to stay fresh, even after daily wear.
What is it made of?
The R1 Daily Beanie comprises 94% recycled polyester, which helps to keep valuable materials in the loop. The remaining 6% is spandex yarn with added miDori™ bioSoft, which enhances the material's moisture-wicking properties and next-to-skin softness. miDori™ textile finishes are sourced from renewable, natural raw materials and use plant-based chemistry to increase fabric performance while lowering carbon emissions.
Patagonia has also treated the fabric with HeiQ® Pure odour neutralising technology, which uses non-ionic silver-based antimicrobial odour control and achieves a high antimicrobial efficacy from a low dosage. It allows you to benefit from all the performance of technical material without spoiling the fresh mountain air. Plus, it means you can get away with washing this beanie less, meaning not only do you have less laundry to do, but you save more water, too!
This product is also made in a Fair Trade Factory™, giving Patagonia more control of the operations in the factories they choose to work with. Patagonia proudly offers more Fair Trade styles than any other apparel brand in the current market. But how does it work? The brand pays a premium for every item made in one of these factories, and this money goes directly to the factory workers. A democratically elected committee of Fair Trade workers will decide how this extra money gets spent in each Fair Trade factory. The program also promotes worker health and safety, and social and environmental compliance, while encouraging healthier dialogue between workers and management.
