What are the Ascendor AS Pants?
The Ascendor AS Pants are versatile alpine pants, made for steep and technical climbing in all seasons. The shape of their construction, combined with their Matrix™ softshell fabric, creates a durable, wind-resistant layer that doesn’t restrict your movement; especially important for those moments when high leg raises and precision foot placement are needed.
What are they made of?
The Ascendor AS Pants are constructed with a mid-weight Matrix™ double weave outer fabric, which is both durable and stretchy. This shell provides breathability as you work hard, and high UPF to protect you from damaging UV rays whilst out in the elements. The brushed back inner is soft is comfortable when worn directly against the skin. The outer is finished with fluorocarbon free DWR, for an extra degree of protection from wet weather.
What are their features?
The waistband on the Ascendor AS Pants is low profile and cut to sit higher on the waist, providing a particularly good and comfortable fit when worn with a harness. Low profile belt loops are supplemented with brace attachments, giving you options for any additional support.
The trousers are fastened with a secure double snap closure and YKK® zip fly. Two zipped, mesh-lined hand pockets are ideal for securely stowing small valuables and essentials, be that your lip balm or favourite trail snack.
There is an additional rear pocket and a bellowed thigh pocket that allows you to fit in any slightly larger items (possibly even more snacks). All the pockets have YKK® zips to ensure your items are kept secure during expeditions.
A long length gusset at the crotch, as well as articulated knees, helps avoid restrictions while moving, which is essential when ascending steep inclines.
For added durability, there are reinforced kicker patches on the tapered ankles, especially helpful when using crampons. And finally, zipped ankle gussets allow you to adjust the bottom hems to suit the size and type of your mountain footwear.
How do they fit?
These trousers are a slim and stretchy fit, allowing a good range of movement and reducing any excess bulk that may get in the way or slow you down.
