What is the Maipo Low Impact Adjustable Bra?
It's a comfortable, breathable bra that offers light support with a lower environmental impact; perfect for everyday wear, travelling and outdoor adventures.
What is it made of?
This bra is made with environmentally responsible, bluesign® approved NetPlus® material, a small amount of elastane with MiDori® bioSoft for added stretch, softness and moisture-wicking performance, and a HeiQ Pure odour control finish.
NetPlus® is Bureo's signature material. It's made from postconsumer recycled fishing nets, meaning it helps reduce one of the most harmful forms of ocean plastic pollution while still empowering fishing communities worldwide. The material is fully traceable and created in partnership with fishermen and women to provide a more circular solution for end-of-life nets, reducing the amount of plastic entering the ocean and making the most of what is otherwise an incredibly precious resource and usable material.
miDori™ textile finishes are sourced from renewable, natural, raw materials and use plant-based chemistry to increase fabric performance while lowering carbon emissions.
As mentioned, Patagonia has also treated the fabric with HeiQ® Pure odour neutralising technology, which uses non-ionic silver-based antimicrobial odour control and achieves a high antimicrobial efficacy from a low dosage. It allows you to benefit from all the technical material performance without spoiling the fresh mountain air. Plus, it means you can get away with washing this beanie less, meaning not only do you have less laundry to do, but you save more water, too!
A bluesign® seal of approval means the materials are manufactured in a way that is safe for the environment, workers and consumers. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
This product is also made in a Fair Trade Factory™, giving Patagonia more control of the operations in the factories they choose to work with. Patagonia proudly offers more Fair Trade styles than any other apparel brand in the current market. But how does it work? Patagonia pays a premium for every item made in one of these factories, and this money goes directly to the factory workers. A democratically elected committee of Fair Trade workers will decide how this extra money gets spent in each Fair Trade factory. The program also promotes worker health and safety, and social and environmental compliance, while encouraging healthier dialogue between workers and management.
What are its features?
The straps are fully adjustable and can be worn vertically or cross-back, providing the versatility essential to everyday and outdoor adventures. You can also adjust them to your preferred length for a more comfortable, inclusive fit.
The padded inserts are removable to suit your preference and make washing this bra far easier; removing the pads before washing will help them last much longer as they won't get ruined in the wash.
A moon-shaped cutout section at the bottom of the design enhances ventilation to reduce sweat build-up and shaves a little weight off, too!
Seams are kept to a minimum to enhance comfort and prevent abrasion or chafing against the skin.
