What are the Anti Freeze Slippers?
These slippers are ideal for camping, hut-to-hut adventures, bothies, basecamp stays, or even lounging around the house. They provide excellent warmth for their weight and feel soft against the skin for optimum comfort.
The Anti Freeze Slippers are also extremely packable, so you won't even have to worry about them taking up precious space and adding unnecessary pounds to your kit bag.
What are they made of?
Insulation: These slippers are filled using 90/10 water resistant HyperDry™ down with 750+ fill power.
HyperDRY™ down is down insulation that has been treated to add water repellency. The treatment is PFC free, makes the insulation up to 40 times more hydrophobic than untreated down and four times faster drying. HyperDRY™ treatments also use 25 times less water and five times less chemistry to achieve the same level of performance as conventional methods.
Can't quite catch the lingo? Here's a quick break down.
Fill power - Fill power measures the warmth and efficiency of the down, alongside its ability to loft/fluff up. A rating of 750 fill power means that 1oz of this down fills 750 cubic inches of space when fully lofted.
Hydrophobic - Hydrophobic down dries out and lofts quicker, resisting moisture from light rain or sweat and condensation that may build up inside the slippers. PFC free Hydrophobic finishes like HyperDRY™ are not fluorinated, and therefore don't cause damage to the environment like previously used fluorinated treatments - an excellent feature for more eco-conscious adventurers!
Outer: The outer is constructed with 100% recycled Pertex® Quantum Eco that feels lightweight and comfortable. The material is designed to promote the insulation's loft and helps trap air to improve the efficiency and warmth of the boot. The material is treated with a PFC-free DWR that encourages any spills or light rain to bead off the fabric.
Lining: The recycled PEAQ Down Eco liner feels soft and smooth next to the skin. It's breathable enough to manage temperature yet durable to ensure heavy use doesn't affect the condition and performance of the slippers overall. It has a PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent), which is more sustainable than regular DWR treatments, as it doesn't use any chemicals that are harmful to the environment.
What are their features?
At the top of the boot, the fleece cuff is stretchy to offer plenty of flexibility, movement and comfort around the ankle, making them ideal for wearing either way - barefoot, over chunky socks, or you could even tuck your trousers in them for maximum warmth!
These slippers also have a removable internal foam sole unit if you want to reduce the bulk or generally find them more comfortable without.
Toughened side walls help to increase durability, while the non-slip sole gives you plenty of grip under the foot to help prevent slipping on smooth tent footprints or over your sleeping bag. Finally, a rear pull-on loop makes it a little easier to slide these boots on at the end of a long, challenging day in the mountains.
