What is the Oreus Vest?
It's an insulated gilet designed to provide exceptional warmth with little weight. The Oreus Vest is the perfect midlayer for wintry conditions yet also works well as a light outer layer for shoulder seasons. What is it made of?
The gilet's outer and lining are made with 100% recycled nylon, which is lightweight and breathable. Mountain Equipment has treated the outer material with an FC-free DWR (durable water repellent), encouraging light rain and snow to bead away without using harmful forever chemicals.
Groundbreaking Aetherm™ technology is used to insulate this gilet. Aetherm™ is a synthetic insulation made with 100% recycled polyester. It offers an incredible warmth-to-weight ratio comparable to high-performance down yet has the added benefit of being able to retain heat when wet. Furthermore, Aetherm™ lofts incredibly well and can still be packed down small, making it easy to stuff this gilet into a kit bag or backpack without taking up excessive space.

What are its features?
The two-way moulded centre zip allows easy access to a climbing harness and doubles up as extra ventilation when needed. The zip is lined with a rear, insulated baffle, which helps prevent cold gaps from forming around the entry point.
Two zipped handwarmer pockets, and a pleated internal drop pocket provides ample storage for small essentials such as snacks, energy gels, keys, a mobile phone or doggy bags.
You can also pack the entire gilet into the internal drop pocket for easy, on-the-go storage. The pocket has twin carabiner loops for attaching the pack to a harness, backpack or even a trouser belt loop.
Lastly, dual tether hem drawcords allow you to cinch the volume around the bottom, sealing the warmth in and the weather out!
