What is the ROC Flash GTX Jacket?
It's a robust, high-performance waterproof shell jacket that protects you from the elements without restricting your movement while navigating technical trails or alpine climbing. The ROC Flash GTX is optimised for mountaineering and alpinism but is also versatile and offers excellent protection for various outdoor activities in changeable environments.
What is it made from?
The ROC Flash GTX is constructed from a durable fabric that is made from recycled polyamide. This recycled face fabric is coated with a DWR (durable water repellent) which encourages the rain to bead off the fabric, enhancing the material's waterproof properties. This DWR is free from per and poly-fluorinated chemicals of environmental concern. It's also bluesign® approved for some extra eco-credentials.
Underneath this recycled outer, you will find a 3-layer GORE-TEX membrane that is exceptionally waterproof, windproof and breathable for excellent protection from wind, rain and snow.
For added protection, the ROC Flash GTX uses aqua guard zips throughout to keep you and your essentials from getting wet in heavy downpours.
What are its features?
Starting at the top, the ROC Flash GTX's hood is helmet compatible and can conveniently be adjusted using one hand, which is exceptionally helpful when high winds or heavy rain showers begin whilst negotiating a technical mountain trail. The hood also features a RECCO® reflector for searchability, just in case.
Two generous zippered Napoleon pockets offer space to store your gloves, buff, phones and trail snacks. The pockets are slightly angled and sit higher than a less technical jacket to allow for easier access whilst wearing a large backpack and climbing harness. One large internal pocket provides storage for your extra gloves and waterproof mitts.
The main zip has a long pull cord to make it easier to use whilst wearing thick winter gloves or mitts. Two-way underarm zips allow you to control the jacket's ventilation and quickly dump heat after a steep ascent.
The adjustable hem to the jacket's base is set forward, so it's not in line with your hips, making it easy to adjust whilst wearing a climbing harness.
