What is the Latok Mountain GTX?

What is it made of?

This dual weight mountain jacket is constructed using recycled 3L Gore-Tex® Pro Most Breathable with an added Gore DWR. A mixture of 80 denier and 40 denier material is strategically placed, offering extra durability in high wear areas such as the hood, shoulders and sleeves to help the jacket live even longer.

Recycled Gore-Tex® Pro Most Breathable offers optimum waterproof protection with high levels of breathability. Breathability helps manage temperature and moisture levels inside the garment, allowing sweat vapour to travel to the jacket's exterior instead of making it feel damp and clammy inside.

Recycled Gore-Tex® Pro is engineered with added durability, enabling it to withstand abrasion in rugged terrain. The material still has a high performance level despite being recycled. It has an impressive Hydrostatic Head rating of 28,000mm and feels no different in quality from regular Gore-Tex® products. Recycled Gore-Tex® Pro Most Breathable combines comfort with reliable waterproof and windproof protection, allowing you to make the most of your adventures without compromise.

What are its features?

At the top of the jacket, the hood has a two way adjustment that optimises the fit around your head and face. It has concealed internal cord locks, which are really easy to use, even if your fingers feel cold and wet. Generally, the hood feels lovely and snug. It feels really cosy and protective once it's cinched in, but not restrictive, and it doesn't hinder your visibility too much.

The hood is also stowable, so you can tuck it away when not in use, instead of having it flapping around your ears in the wind. At the top of the hood is a wired, stiffened peak, that helps to provide improved face shelter from the rain.

The sleeves are articulated, meaning they are cut with more room under the arm. This helps stop the sleeve from riding up when the arm is fully extended. Articulated sleeves provide improved freedom of movement and arm lift - perfect for tackling technical climbs or steep scrambles. The cuffs are extended to provide more shelter for the hands, and they have a simple hook and loop adjustment system to adapt the fit around gloves or mitts.

Two-way fully venting pit zips sit underneath the arms. They are secured with YKK® AquaGuard zips and haptic pullers, which are easy to get hold of - you won't need to take the jacket off just to undo them. AquaGuard zips are taped zips that offer enhanced water resistance around the entry point.

The main entry to the jacket uses a centre front zip with a lower snap fastener for extra security, or ventilation if you're getting a little too warm. A fleece lined chin guard sits at the top of the zip, which feels super smooth and soft against the skin.

This jacket brings a huge range of storage options. At the front is a Napoleon chest pocket which is perfect for keeping a GPS system or compass safe within reach. There are two hand pockets that are really roomy, you'll get plenty of snacks in there if you like a feast, or a big pair of gloves if it's a little nippy. An extra, internal zipped pocket offers additional space for valuables you might want to keep a little closer to you, such as keys, a mobile phone or some emergency cash.

Dual-sided rear hem adjusters allow you to cinch in the jacket further to keep the wind out. The adjusters are mitt-friendly, so you won't need to faff around taking your gloves off to use them if you're out exploring colder climates.

How does it fit?

Like the rest of the Latok range, this jacket comes in a regular fit, offering a little extra space without being baggy and oversized. This helps to improve freedom of movement and allows you to build an effective layering system underneath in colder weather.
