What is the Namche Paclite Jacket?

It's a lightweight, packable Gore-Tex® jacket made with durable materials. The Namche Paclite is the ideal all-round jacket for a variety of activities, whether hill walking, hiking, scrambling or even more casual, urban activities. Thanks to its compressible construction, it's the perfect piece for stuffing into a backpack when the weather is looking a little unpredictable.

What is it made of?

The clue's in the name! The Namche Paclite is made with recycled Gore-Tex® Paclite, having a lighter impact on the environment without compromising performance and durability. Paclite® is perfect as a lightweight, protective outer layer - it's so light you will barely notice that you're wearing it!

This packable fabric is ideal for outdoor and everyday use, offering breathable windproof and waterproof technology with the Gore-Tex Guaranteed To Keep You Dry™ promise. It can scrunch up easily to fit into a backpack or kit bag without taking up excessive room or adding too much weight, making it the perfect back-up option in unpredictable environments - perfect for the UK weather.

What are its features?

The two-way adjustable hood allows you to optimise the fit around different head shapes and sizes, or over layers, such as hoodies and beanie hats. You can adjust it using the concealed internal cord locks with just one hand, so you don't have to fuss about removing gloves or putting your gear down.

The hood also has a stiffened peak that comfortably sits above the forehead, helping direct rain away from your face and increasing weather protection. Although it's been stiffened, the peak is still flexible enough to easily pack away when neccessary.

When the jacket is fully fastened, you'll feel the benefit of the fleecy chin guard that protects your skin from snagging in the front zip, which is a YKK® Aquaguard zip with a built-in storm guard.

YKK® Aquaguard zips are taped to ensure water doesn't seep through the entry.

Articulated sleeves allow you to move freely and comfortably without being restrictive, even when the jacket is fully fastened or when you have layers underneath.

The cuffs come with anti-snag hook and loop adjusters that allow you to adapt the fit around bare wrists, chunky gloves or mittens. They're easy to use and highly durable, so you won't have to worry about them falling apart if you wear this jacket regularly.

The dual-sided hem adjuster can be used with just one hand in one simple manoeuvre, which is convenient if you're scrambling or hiking with poles and don't have both hands free.

Taped seams protect stitching from leaking water, giving you reassurance that even in a heavy downpour, this jacket won't start leaking and turn your precious layering system into one soggy mess.

The Namche Paclite is finished with a smart yet subtle embroidered Rab logo.
