What are the Mercury Mitts?

They're waterproof, insulated mitts with four-way stretch for improved freedom of movement, allowing you to handle technical terrain and gear more accurately. The removable liner makes them versatile enough for year-round use in various climates and conditions.

What are they made of?

The shell of these gloves uses recycled fabrics to provide plenty of stretch without compromising performance and a BD.dry™ insert for waterproof protection. The outer is finished with GTT Empel™ DWR (durable water repellent). Green Theme Technologies Empel™ DWR takes a much more sustainable approach to water repellent treatments, being completely free of water, palm oil and PFC pollutants to lessen its environmental impact.

Goat leather is added to the palms for reinforcement and durability to withstand mountain use.

The removable liner is filled with PrimaLoft® Gold insulation with Crosscore technology on the back of the hand, and PrimaLoft® Gold with Grip Control on the palm. It has a soft, recycled fleece lining on the inside that feels luxurious against the skin and provides additional warmth to keep you cosy in the coldest conditions.

Primaloft® Gold with Crosscore technology is a woven synthetic insulation. It is the Gold standard of Primaloft™ insulation, providing the ultimate level of warmth compared to other fibres. The technically advanced fibres are infused with Aerogel technology, which is used by NASA and acclaimed for its ultra lightweight yet ultra insulative properties.

PrimaLoft® Gold with Grip Control performs similarly, providing exceptional heat levels even when wet, yet has added slip resistance to help give you more grip under the hand.

What are its features?

To be honest, the materials are what make the Mercury Mitts so technical! Otherwise, they have a standard fit and a long gauntlet cuff that helps to keep spindrift and moisture on the outside. As previously mentioned, the insulative liner is removable, allowing you to adapt them to warmer temperatures if you still require extra protection from rugged terrain and wet weather.
