What are the Khroma Tour Gloves?
These are burly outdoor gloves constructed with durable leather and Gore-Tex Infinium™ Windstopper®. They feel super firm and comfy whilst offering fantastic breathability for such a technical glove. They are built explicitly with ski-touring in mind, ready to take on the challenges of powder, rock and rope.
What are they made of?
Using a combination of Pittards Armortan® leather, two-layer Matrix™ nylon stretch and Gore-Tex Infinium™ Windstopper® technology, these gloves feel super warm, cosy and tough enough to face adverse conditions in the mountains.
Pittards Armortan® leather is strategically placed at the highest wear points, the thumbs and palms. It aims to increase the abrasion resistance of the gloves by focusing on the microscopic fibril bundles within the leather that make up its fibre. The fibril bundles are encased with tiny 'armour plates', which are more resistant to wear and abrasion, increasing the overall durability of the material.
Matrix™ two-layer nylon stretch is also an extremely durable, lightweight stretch fabric. It helps to enhance the flexibility whilst feeling really smooth and soft against the skin - easy to wear for long, intense sessions on the slopes. This stretchy fabric is treated with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) to add some extra protection against the elements, so light rain or snow will bead away. However, please note that, unfortunately, the DWR doesn't provide complete waterproof protection.
The lining uses a Gore® fleece lining with Gore-Tex Infinium™ Windstopper® technology, which is super lightweight and highly effective. It helps to keep the harsh conditions out, providing warmth, water resistance and windproof protection to keep your hands toasty and well shielded. Gore-Tex Infinium™ Windstopper® provides maximum breathability - it manages moisture effectively so that it doesn't build up inside the gloves, increasing overall comfort and giving you a much better in-hand grip.
What are the features?
These gloves are precurved, offering a much more natural shape and feel whilst maximising grip, so handling ropes and equipment feels nice and precise to help keep you safe. Outsewn seams provide a more dextrous fit, whilst the wrist straps are perfect for adapting the gloves to keep the powder out.
