What is the Xenon Glove?
The Xenon Gloves are packable, warm gloves that will become your best friend when the weather gets cold.
What is the Xenon Glove made from?
The Pertex Quantum outer, although not fully waterproof, it is highly water resistant so it will slow water ingress and the Primaloft Gold will still insulate even if they do get wet. These two materials also offer impeccable wind protection.
What are the Xenon's features?
These might be slightly heavier than similar options out there, however, that is because the team at Rab have added a durable PU palm to make the Xenon gloves a bit more versatile as a stand-alone glove if needs be. You can clip them together so they don't get separated in you kit store and when they are in your pack you can keep them in their included stuff sack. The elasticated stitching provides a close fit around the wrist and the stretch cuff provides a nice seal to maximise warmth. Meanwhile, the microfiber lining adds a bit more warmth as well as making them easier to get on and off even with wet hands.
How do the Xenon Gloves fit?
As Jim Carey famously once said, "like a glove"...
Where do they fit in the Layering system?
On your hands... Seriously though, we recommend to carry more than one set of gloves in the hill; one to wear straight out of the gate which doesn't need to be overly warm as you will generate your own heat (softshell gloves are great for this), one you change to if your first pair get wet (a waterproof option is a good idea) and for extra safety a pair of warm gloves such as these. That's a lot of gloves right? And really warm gloves can be bulky, so we highly recommend gloves like the Xenon, as the warmth you get for weight and pack size is incredible. For the non-serious mountain goer/outdoors person they are a get throw in your bag just in case glove and a good option for walking the dog on cold winter mornings.
