What are the Rab Storm Mitts?
Rab's Storm mitts are warm, waterproof and great for all year round cold, wet weather use. Featuring a soft fleece lining and a polyurethane palm, they're both tough and exceptionally comfortable.
What are the mitts made of?
Fabrics: The storm mitts feature a tough nylon outer fabric to deal with the abuse that the mountains and trails have to offer, while a tough PU textured palm increases abrasion resistance even further when handling rope and tools. Underneath this, you get a completely waterproof Porelle membrane to ensure your hands stay completely dry in the worst conditions. A soft fleece lining increases comfort even further and wicks away sweat when you're working hard.
Insulation: Beneath the tough outer layers lies Rab's own Stratus insulation; this insulation is compressible, durable, lofts brilliantly and is warm even when wet. This insulation combined with the waterproof membrane and reinforced palm ensures comfort, warmth and durability for all year round use.
What are the features?
Aside from the tough shell and warm inner, the Storm mitts pack quite a few little extra features. On the back of the thumb, you'll find a soft patch of fabric to wipe your nose with (really useful in super cold conditions when handling tools), while a single-handed drawcord cuff closure seals out the weather. The inside of the mitt has fleecy 'finger pockets' for your fingers to sit inside for additional warmth. Lastly, the entire mitt is pre-curved to ensure it follows the relaxed position of your hand.
