90-day returns period

We hope that you are perfectly happy with your order from Trekitt, but we understand that you may want to return your purchase. We offer a 90 days return period from the date of purchase, and endeavour to process all returns within 48 hours of receipt.

We do not offer a free returns service. Therefore, all customers are responsible for any postage costs when returning any goods (excluding warranty returns).

For your convenience, follow here to the Royal Mail Returns Portal to arrange return postage for your items. This is not a Trekitt operated service.

Exemptions
PPE (Facemasks, Climbing Equipment etc. ), Food Goods, Accessory Cord, Socks & Underwear can only be returned if they have not been worn and/or removed from their original packaging with all swing tags still attached. If there is any sign or possibility that the goods have been used, tampered with or contaminated in any way, then we cannot accept a return on the grounds of consumer safety. Zips are typically not covered under a manufacturer's warranty.

Nikwax Tech Wash.  A thoroughly safe, effective and environmentally friendly way of cleaning all your outdoor clothing.  Garments that are cleaned regularly with Tech Wash perform better, FACT! Clean garments breathe better, are lighter and last longer.  Normal detergents completely strip the surface water repellency from your garments leaving them wet and heavy with reduced breathability, this is known as "wetting out".  Tech wash enhances the water repellency so your garments can breathe better and stay lighter.  

Its not just about performance, you wouldn't wear everyday clothes that had not been washed for months, so why wear dirty clothes doing the activities you love? Think of washing and re-proofing your kit like servicing your car, you (hopefully) wouldn't expect your car to keep going forever without regular servicing, look after your kit and it will look after you.

TX Direct is designed to add water repellency to the fabric of waterproof garments. Why?  Well if the face fabric of your expensive waterproof clothing gets wet, the breathable technology behind it (Gore-Tex, Event etc) cannot breath.  You know what its like the first time you go out in the rain with a new jacket, the water beads up and rolls off.  Then after some time this stops happening and your jacket gets all wet and heavy, it "wets out", and feels damp and clammy on the inside.  TX Direct will reduce wetting out and maintain the performance of your outdoor clothing like new.  Used regularly it will prolong the life of garments and enhance performance.  TX Direct Wash in is not suitable for garments with wicking liners or non-machine washable items.

Nikwax products are Water Based, non-aerosol, non-flammable, non-hazardous and environmentally friendly. They contain no harmful solvents or volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and are completely free of fluorocarbons (which have been shown to be persistent in the environment and have been associated with serious health issues).

Technical Information

Machine washing and Proofing

Use neat Tech Wash and a sponge, or soft nylon brush, to treat stubborn stains before washing. Remove all non-washable parts. Shake well before use. Follow care label instructions. Do not use detergents.

  • Remove all detergent build up from the detergent dispenser.
  • Place item in washing machine (maximum 2 items).
  • Use 150 ml of Tech Wash in medium/hard water areas and 100 ml in soft water areas for 1-2 items.
  • Wash according to care label.
  • Now add 100 ml of TX Direct per garment.
  • Repeat cycle used for washing.
  • Air dry, there is no need for tumble drying or ironing.

Hand washing and Proofing:

Use gloves.

  • Immerse item in 6 litres of hand-hot water in sink or bowl.
  • Use 150 ml in medium/hard water areas and 100 ml in soft water areas for 1-2 items.
  • Rinse 3 times in clean water.
  • Immerse  the now clean garment in 6 litres of fresh hand-hot water in a bowl or sink.
  • Add 50 ml of TX.Direct.
  • Agitate to mix, leave to soak for 5-10 minutes, then agitate thoroughly.
  • Rinse with cold water until water runs clear.
  • Air dry, there is no need for tumble drying or ironing.
