What is the Comfort Down Sleeping Bag?
It's a super warm sleeping bag designed for those camping in below-freezing temperatures. The Comfort Down Bag offers supreme warmth for multi-day winter hikes and wild camps and features an innovative shape to promote restorative sleep. It's also made with recycled materials and designed to reduce material waste during manufacture, making it an excellent choice for more responsible shoppers.
What is it made of?
Insulation: 1050g of 100% recycled down filling provides ample warmth with less weight and bulk. It has a lower environmental impact by being recycled instead of newly sourced, helping to keep useable materials in the loop.
Outer: The outer material is also 100% recycled and has a smooth, soft finish to enhance comfort. The material is treated with PFC-free DWR (durable water repellent) to help negate heat loss from tent leaks or morning coffee spills, as damp down insulation can lose its warmth.
Mammut works with FairWear to ensure safe, ethical working conditions in their factories, helping to protect workers' rights and being considerate and responsible with their processes.
This product is also bluesign® approved, meaning it's manufactured in a way that is safe for the environment, workers and consumers. bluesign® certifications ensure that the materials used avoid harmful substances, use reduced air and water emissions, increase resource productivity, and the production line is more transparent and trustworthy.
What features does it have?
The newly developed shape of this sleeping bag is designed to provide a more restorative sleep whilst reducing waste by 15% (compared to the industry average). It's super lightweight and compressible, making it easy to pack away into the stuffsack (included) on the go.
It provides intuitive climate regulation, thanks to the central two-way zipper that you can undo if you need to dump a little heat when sleeping in this super toasty bag. The zipper also helps prevent the jamming of materials, reducing the risk of snagging or tearing by getting it caught in the fastening.
At the end of the zip, you'll find a little 'zipper garage'. This garage helps to prevent cold spots from forming at the end of the fastening to maximise efficiency and performance.
An insulated covering along the zip helps to protect you from cold patches, enhancing comfort and temperature regulation to balance the microclimate of the bag.
This sleeping bag comes with a drawstring adjustment that allows you to cinch in the hood and the collar for extra cosiness when you need it most. The collar is also insulated, helping keep the heat in whilst creating a cosy, cushioned barrier around the neck.
A revised anatomical foot box gives your feet space to breathe and lay naturally without adding excessive weight or bulk to the overall design.
For hanging around in camp or even if you get a little too warm in this sleeping bag (beware, the comfort rating for the Comfort Down is -9°C), then you can switch the bag into 'blanket mode' by unzipping it entirely and folding down the hood.
