What is the Boulder 3?
The Boulder 3 is the perfect tent for less experienced campers or even those with years of practice seeking something basic that will simply do the job. It has a durable construction and doesn't compromise function or performance for various trips, whether woodland or wild camping or even taking on somewhere more mountainous.
What is it made of?
Flysheet: Robens has constructed the flysheet with HydroTex® Core, a material created specifically for their range of entry-level technical tents. The material comprises rugged 75D polyester treated with fire retardant for maximum safety around campfires and coated with PU for waterproofness. The PU coating has given the material a hydrostatic head rating of 3000mm for reliable performance in mixed conditions.
Inner tent: The inner tent is made with 68D polyester, which provides substantial protection from creepy crawlies while maximising breathability to help reduce condensation overnight and encourage effective temperature regulation.
Inner Floor: Durable 75D polyester Taffeta provides ample protection underneath. It has a HH rating of 6000mm to provide reliability on damp ground without adding too much weight or bulk to the overall design.
Poles: The poles are made using alloy, which has been anodised to increase corrosion resistance and overall durability for keen campers to get the most out of this tent!
What are its features?
Twin porch areas give you plenty of space to store backpacks without having to take up space inside the tent; plus, both you and your camping partner get your own entry point, so you don't need to clamber over each other when moving around.
The inner is free-standing for minimum faff, and variable doors allow one of both panels to be opened at a time if you want to embrace the fresh air a little more. The door also features a built-in mesh panel to let some light and extra ventilation in.
Covered vents on both ends of this tent optimise airflow without letting the weather in.
Thanks to the good internal height, you can sit up comfortably inside, while the lantern hanging point allows you to hang a torch for nighttime reading and late-night gossip with your campmates - maybe even a ghost story or two?
In case of emergencies, this tent also comes with a flysheet fabric repair patch so you can quickly fix any damage that may occur in rugged environments.
