What are the Guide Gloves?
Mountain Equipment has designed the Guide Gloves with all-round performance in mind. They offer a fantastic level of waterproof protection that is breathable and comfortable enough for all-day wear, perfect for a variety of technical mountain activities such as mountaineering, skiing or a spot of ice climbing.
What are they made of?
The Guide Gloves are made with a waterproof Drilite® insert that offers maximum protection without compromising breathability.
Just to give you an idea, Drilite® has a minimum of 20,000mm Hydrostatic Head and exceeds 20,000g/sqm/24h for breathability. Need we say more?
The back of the hand is lined with fibre pile, and there's a designated nose wipe panel made of reversed suede, helping you to catch those pesky sniffles without chafing or damaging the skin from continuous friction.
The palm is reinforced with goatskin leather to increase abrasion resistance and grip, and lined with microfleece for next-to-skin comfort and warmth.
What are their features?
Fingers and thumbs are articulated and pre-curved to create a more comfortable, natural fit that promotes better flexibility and grip for handling equipment such as axes or ski poles. Roll-top fingers provide further durability, while the single-handed drawcords seal out the elements easily.
The wrist tethers are removable if you'd rather not use them or want to cut down a little weight, and finally, each glove has karabiner carry loops, allowing you to hook them onto a belt loop or backpack when they're not being worn.
