What are the Fulcrum gloves?
The Fulcrum Glove is for those who require a warm, comfortable and protective glove without sacrificing heavily on dexterity. They're near enough perfect for winter mountaineering and cold weather climbing.
What are they made of?
Starting from the outer, a super durable Pittards leather offers protection against general mountainous abuse, while double-layers of leather are used in high wear areas. Underneath this, a Gore-Tex membrane provides total water and windproofing. The Fulcrum features Gore's Grip waterproof technology, meaning the Gore-Tex membrane is bonded to the other materials of the glove, increasing dexterity and reducing the amount of excess movement which would usually occur.
Insulation wise, Rab use 80g of PrimaLoft Gold on the back of the hand and fingers and 60g in the palm. This ensures you've got plenty of insulation where your hands need yet, yet maximum dexterity in the palm for tool handling. The insulation on the palm, much like the Gore-Tex membrane, is bonded to prevent it sliding around during use. Finally, a soft Bemberg lining wicks away sweat and provides a soft surface for your hands to sit against.
What are the features?
Most of the features lie in the insulation and fabrics, however there are a few more bits and bobs to mention. A pre-curved design follows the natural shape of your hand when relaxed, while knuckle reinforcements add protection. A low-profile bonded cuff fits comfortably underneath jacket sleeves and a small loop on the middle finger allows you to clip the gloves to your harness when not in use.
